Treadmill Testing

There are two types of treadmill testing that we use in our office. The treadmill is used during a nuclear test to raise the heart rate during the procedure. We also use treadmills with echocardiography to raise the heart rate so imaging can occur at peak exercise. If you are going to walk on a treadmill you are required to dress comfortably It is suggested that you wear a button down shirt or blouse and comfortable walking shoes. Sneakers are recommended. Most patients, depending on their fitness level, walk between three and ten minutes during the course of the test.
